Community Cafe
A group of volunteers from the Autumn Club set up the Community Cafe at the community centre approx 3 years ago. This was primarily for the residents of the estate to give them an affordable option to eat out and mix socially with other community members.
The Cafe has proved a huge success. It is a non-profit making venture, all the profits from the Cafe being ploughed back into the Autumn Club to reduce the costs to clients. The Cafe willbe visited by Wirral Borough Council environmental health and to obtain a food hygiene rating. The food safety officer inspecting a business checks how well the business is meeting the law by looking at how hygienically the food is handled; how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored; the condition of the structure of the buildings; the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities; how the business manages and records what it does to make sure food is safe. Following our last inspection and the work carried out by the volunteers, the community centre Cafe obtained an overall score of 5. That is our aim for our next inspection.
